The Year is 1776… Name The Important Events

The year is 1776 and many things happened that still are with us today.  Can you name some?  Many may state the American Revolution or the Declaration of Independence.  Sure, they are important.  But, today 9 March in 1776, Adam Smith’s Wealth of Nations was published.
