Red Ryder’s Revenge- a Story That Inspired the Movie “A Christmas Story”

The characters, places, and events described herein are entirely fictional, and any resemblance to individuals living or dead is purely coincidental, accidental, or the result of a faulty imagination“.- Jean Shepherd, “A Christmas Story” (book)

Many years ago, Jean Shepherd had an overnight radio program on WOR in New York.  Often times, he would tell stories and those stories eventually made their way to magazines and books.

So, gather some popcorn and let us return to a time when Jean read to us.  Our story is one of many short stories that inspired the movie “A Christmas Story”.  Our story is “A Duel on the Snow, or, Red Ryder Nails the Cleveland Street Kid”.

Reading the story is special.  Having Jean read it to you is-  Well, it is incredible.  What a voice!  What a delivery!

Some say so much more with their words.
