A few years ago I met Howling Wolf founder John Lohr at an advisory board meeting. Lohr was just finishing his latest book, “Somebody Else’s Money”, and gave an interesting presentation highlighting a number of scandals involving the financial services industry.
At dinner that evening he spent some time sharing his vision for an independent site that offered a financial education resource for the public and financial professionals. Many times, families are introduced ideas and opportunities by financial advisors who point out the good parts and gloss over the potential pitfalls. He wanted a place where people could go and learn about a subject.
Lohr’s vision is up and running today. There are classes to take, newsletters, and educational materials.
Howling Wolf also offers a weekly radio podcast hosted by Lohr. http://www.howlingwolf.org/podcasts/
